Are L1A1 SLR mags compatible with FN/FALs

Are L1A1 SLR mags compatible with FN/FALs.
I have a fnfal and i want to use 20 round slr magazines for service rifle now that it is a e-cat again. i do not have any metric fnfal mags. if they are not compatible because one is metric and the other is imperial where would i get reasonably priced mags. if i had to import fnfal mags and only had the 5-rounders to hand in, would i still get an import permit. thanks for any help out there.

Unfortunatly fnfal mags will go in a L1A1 but not vise versa. You need to get a little bit fancy on the L1A1 mag to fit it to a fal. If someone else dosnt before me, After dinner i will take a pic for your comparison if you like?

Any good with a dremal or file? The fn mag shown was once an L4 bren mag which is the same as the L1A1 mag.

Each to their own i guess? I will always alter/mod the cheapest part first.

thanks for all your posts. i have looked closely at my a-cat-now e-cat fn/fal to discover it is a l1a1 with a fal forgrips and bi-pod. duh.
do you think $60 for a slr mag is the right price two for $120. thanks again
