I think the roblem in a nut shell is Council have unlimited $$$ and basically just trying to make Bruce give up.

I think the problem in a nut shell is colfo rakes in a lot of money every year and all they do is "distrubute" information. Members also can't vote for who runs colfo, only a select few can.

No legal assistants for members,
No legal action against the police.

Basically, he has a better chance getting the council to pay for his legal costs than COLFO

Exactly true, a few years ago had an old friend ran an egg farm, had done for the last 40 years, a woman moved in next door, and the next day came to see the egg farmer to tell him she was "going to shut him down" . He dismissed the notion that she would win as all the other neighbours around supported him and had no problem but she got the ear of someone in council and it started. It took about 3 years and substantial amounts of money to the stage where he said "fuck this" and pulled the pin. He was 76 at the time and the hens were his lifes work and his intention was that one day he would kark it and they would find him under a pile of henshit. Instead he ended up under a pile of bullshit.

It only takes one little viper in this PC society of ours to poison the whole barrel and no matter how much money you have, be prepared to spend a heap of it, especially if your local council gets involved 'cause its not their money they are spending, its yours, and theres plenty more where that came from.

BTW the old egg farmer is 93 now.
Being vertical and breathing, it's gotta be a good day.

Perhaps there could be a Vinyard established at the Cable Bay facility ... and bird scarers employed during ALL daylight hours! Plus legions of shotgunners - to control the waxeyes?

mean time we can all do our part by buying a lotto ticket and when we win buy one of the properties next to the range then he'd lose one of the complainents
and gain another member for the range.

hell if i had the coin id buy a farm and build a 1500yrd range in a gully in the of the farm with pines on the top of the gully for sound containment and have it approved for all calibres from .17M2 to 30mm (theres a guy in the states making em) and to top it off licanced bar/grill in the club room and accomadation for 50 people

maybe put subdevisions round it with the clause current FAL holders prefered and no wingeing bout the noise
The Police breathtests are not an Imperial Stormtrooper roadblock, so I should not tell them "You don't need to see my identification, these are not the droids you are looking for."

Unfortunately it's a sign of the times in this country, some long established business, producing product and injecting $$$ into the local and national economy gets fucked over by some fuckwit lifestyler immigrant, (be it migrated from the city or some other shithole country).
I have a client in Central Otago, multi generation family owned farm, lifestyle hippy cunt buys a block of land bordering this farm then starts complaining about the noise from the engine driving the farms irrigation system.
Cost the farmer in excess of $80K building an insulated building to house the pump and engine, building a sound baffle between the pump house and the boundary, installing an elaborate exhaust system on the engine to quieten it down and this fuckwit is still bitching.

You just cant win.

Oh and to add to that, the $80k he had to spend on this crap meant he didn't replace his tractor last season, so even more reason for me to dislike this fuckin moaning hippy.

NB, not suggesting at all that all lifestylers are like that, but a a fairly big chunk of them are, and like FN says, it only takes one to spoil the whole lot.

Perhaps if the objectors were identified we could go to them in small groups, look them in the eye ... and let them know our displeasure?

Reply redacted for legal reasons. The attitude of these people makes me very unhappy.
